Gutter Cleaning
When was the last time you checked your gutters? Gutter cleaning is not on the top of most people’s priority list, as they say, ‘out of sight, out of mind’. However, gutters play a pivotal role in your house’s structural integrity, helping protect your home and yard from water’s damaging and erosive effects.
Clogged gutters will prevent water from draining properly, and the water will instead try to find somewhere else to drain out of, which could result in water leaking into your home through your windows and ceiling.
This is particularly important during heavy storms where water falls onto your roof. The gutters need to be clear and clean to help drain the water.
The buildup of leaves, dirt and debris will encourage corrosion in your gutters and downpipes, which will eventually have to be replaced, along with any repair work required to fix any water damage, which can be extremely expensive.
Having gutters and roofs filled with leaves and debris also poses a fire hazard. To protect your home, gutter cleaning should be completed at least twice a year in Autumn and Spring to prepare for the increased rainfall in winter and hot, dry weather in summer.
